Caring for your Tsongas
You chose something real. Real leather, real craft, real stitching, made by hand to move with you. A little care means they'll keep showing up for you, year after year.
Leather care
Your shoes are made from some of the finest leathers in the world, naturally grained, treated with natural stains and dyes, and unique to every hide. Over time, they'll soften and develop character. That's not wear. That's leather doing what it was made to do.
Day to day A damp cloth goes a long way. Wipe lightly, then let them breathe and dry naturally, away from heaters or direct heat, which dries leather out over time.
Deeper clean When they need more, reach for Tsonga Leather Clean & Feed. A small amount worked in with a soft brush, buffed off with a clean cloth. It cleans and nourishes in one step. Once a month keeps the leather soft and extends the life of the shoe significantly.
Extra protection Tsonga Water, Oil & Stain Repellent adds a protective layer against moisture and everyday wear. Hold it 15–25cm from the surface and spray in even strokes until slightly damp. Give it 15–20 minutes to dry.
Suede care
Suede is worth the extra attention, a little goes a long way.
For everyday marks A suede eraser, used gently in one direction, handles most light scuffs before they become a problem.
For a proper clean Use Tsonga Shoe Cleaner on a soft brush and work across the whole panel, not just the mark, to keep the finish even. Once dry, use a soft brush to bring the texture back.
Before their first wear Spray new suede with Tsonga Water, Oil & Stain Repellent before you wear them out for the first time. It makes every clean easier after that. Reapply regularly, especially through wet seasons.
A few good habits for all styles
Rest. One day between wears makes a real difference to how long they last.
Store well. A cool, dry spot works best — not the shoe box for long periods. Stuff with tissue or shoe trees to hold their shape.
Avoid direct sunlight. It fades both leather and suede over time.
After wet days, shake off any excess water and let them dry slowly at room temperature — never near heat.
On cushioned (polyurethane soles) used on some styles for their comfort underfoot wearing them regularly is actually the best care. Long spells without wear in extreme heat or humidity can cause them to stiffen. They're made to be lived in.
